More About the Project
We are an ensemble of international theatre artists studying at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in Blue Lake, California. Our original theatre production, CITIZENS OF NOWHERE, has been selected as one of four finalists and participating productions for the International University Theatre Festival (Festival Internacional de Teatro Universitario), presented by Teatro UNAM in Mexico City.
This original tragedy was devised as part of our second-year studies, written and staged by the eight of us over the course of seven weeks. The story surrounds Jama, a teenage refugee who is the second generation born within a city of exiles. When the rations are cut, what lengths will she go to protect her family and save her people? A story of soldiers and the wall they uphold, of love amidst the ruins of war — the inescapable fate of our heroine unfolds through the course of this classically modeled tragedy.
The festival is able to provide food, accommodation and local transport during our visit, however, they are unable to fly us to Mexico City. We hope to raise the funds needed for travel to and from the festival, with this GoFundMe campaign, along with two benefit performances hosted by Dell’Arte International.
Please support us in any way you can! Share this page, like our campaign, tell your friends and donate today! Thank you for being a part of this exciting and meaningful opportunity.
