Jordan and Yoga
Jordan has been practicing yoga (in numerous styles) for the last 10 years. Favorite styles include vinyasa, ashtanga, nidra & restorative. In August 2016, he received his 200 hr teacher certification at Loom Yoga Center (RYS) in Brooklyn, NY. Jordan comes to yoga teaching from a former career as a gymnastics coach and on an ongoing journey as a physical theatre artist. To that end, he also practices Japanese butoh dance, acrobatics, clowning, and mask.
Jordan’s yoga classes include chanting, meditation, pranayama (breath), asana (postures) and lots of attention to the bandhas (energetic locks). With a gift for movement analysis, skill-building, and breaking down concepts, both beginners and advanced practitioners will find something worthwhile from taking Jordan’s classes.
He currently lives in Blacksburg, VA where he offers private lessons by appointment, but also travels during the summer and is widely available for retreats, corporate events, specialty workshops, and more.
Jordan’s Ongoing Classes…

What his students have to say…
It’s hard to describe presence in words, but for the short time that I’ve know Jordan, I’ve noticed just that; incredible presence and also an uncanny adeptness at his craft. I have taken a handful of his classes and seen him perform several times and have been impressed by his creativity, strength, humility and accessibility. I look forward to learning more from him and see him as a true teacher- having his mind and heart in it for all the right reasons and who is genuinely passionate about what he does and passionate about sharing it with others. Being a Bodyworker for 6 years and a practitioner of Yoga for 15 years, I immediately recognize the supreme value of movement and dance and what it has to offer in the way of conditioning the body and healing those hard-to-explain stuck parts within ourselves. I think we are lucky to have a teacher of Jordan’s caliber among us!

“I loved my yoga lesson with Jordan! He is an excellent teacher: knowledgable, focused and fun. I had always been kind of “anti-yoga” thinking it wasn’t something for me, mostly due to some physical limitations. But Jordan made it so accessible. He took me step by step through the basics and really tailored everything to my needs. Now I have the fundamentals to enjoy the practice of yoga without fear of injury. Thanks, Jordan!”
